Willow Cuttings

willowcuttings2.JPG

I've been growing willow here at Cherry Tree Flower Farm since 2006 and have used the resulting harvests for everything from making wreath bases to feeding sheep!

The willow rods are havested in winter once the leaves have fallen which is usually December - March.  This is also the ideal time to plant cuttings.

I am registered with the Animal and Plant Health Agency [APHA] and am authorised to issue plant passports so you can be sure that your willow cuttings will be in the best of health.

Cuttings are approx 25 - 30cm long and sold in bundles of 5. Salix viminalis is also sold in longer lengths for use in ground stabilisation. Please get in touch for details.

Willow is best grown in open ground with minimal competition from grass and weeds. Mulch or weed suppressing membrane is recommended until the willow is established.

Once purchased, you will receive an email with detailed planting instructions.

Delivery is to UK addresses only.

For details of which variety might be suitable for your needs, please see the invidual listings in the living willow shop.
